Bishop Dr. Sanya Ojo SOMH Cares, alongside other ministers of God including Prophet Amos Isaiah, Evangelist Akanbi Olawale, and Evangelist Adeoye (popularly known as Baba Waste), led fervent prayers for peace, security, and divine intervention in Nigeria during the Hour of Mercy Programme held at Veno Prayer Centre on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
The programme, themed "Complaining Magnifies Problems, But Thanksgiving Magnifies God," featured an atmosphere of praise, worship, thanksgiving, and intercessory prayers for the nation.
During his sermon, Bishop Ojo spoke extensively on the importance of gratitude, drawing his message from 1 Thessalonians 5:18, which says: "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." He also referenced Philippians 4:6, encouraging believers to replace anxiety with prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving.
The cleric emphasized that Christians should thank God in seasons of joy as well as in periods of difficulty, noting that gratitude remains a powerful expression of faith.
According to him, no matter the challenges confronting individuals or the nation, God has not abandoned His people.
"If you are alive, there is still hope. Learn to thank God in every season—during abundance and during challenges. A grateful person sees opportunities where others see problems," Bishop Ojo declared.
He reminded worshippers that thanksgiving opens doors to divine intervention and strengthens believers during difficult times.
"Complaining magnifies problems, but thanksgiving magnifies God. Let your life be filled with gratitude because God is working behind the scenes on your behalf," he added.
Speaking on the security situation in the country, Bishop Ojo and the other ministers offered special prayers against kidnapping, banditry, and all forms of criminal activities. They prayed for God's protection over citizens and for wisdom and strength for security agencies.
The Bishop also expressed gratitude to God over recent reports of the arrest of suspected bandits and the rescue of kidnap victims from their captors, describing such developments as signs that God is answering the prayers of His people.
The programme ended with prophetic declarations, prayers for national peace, and thanksgiving songs as worshippers expressed confidence that God would continue to intervene in the affairs of Nigeria. :::
