Barely two weeks before the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has elected a new executive to pilot the affairs of the council.
The Chairman of the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA), Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, emerged as the new Chairman of IPAC, Osun State, following a voice affirmation by representatives of 15 registered political parties during the council's meeting held on Monday.
The emergence of Dr. Odeyemi comes at a critical period as political parties intensify preparations for the forthcoming governorship election. The new executive is expected to promote unity among political parties, encourage peaceful campaigns, and work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure a credible, free, fair, and violence-free electoral process in the state.
Political observers believe the new IPAC leadership will play a significant role in fostering inter-party cooperation and strengthening democratic values ahead of the crucial August 15 governorship poll.
