FirstBank has announced the integration of Google Pay into its digital payment services, offering eligible cardholders greater convenience, flexibility and security when making transactions locally and internationally.
The development enables eligible customers to add their FirstBank payment cards to Google Pay and make contactless payments using compatible devices at supported payment terminals worldwide.
According to the bank, the initiative forms part of its ongoing digital transformation strategy aimed at improving customer experience and expanding access to modern financial services.
Speaking on the partnership, Abednego Ugwueke, Group Head, e-Business and Retail Products at FirstBank, described the integration as another significant milestone in the bank's commitment to providing innovative and globally accepted payment solutions.
He explained that the initiative would enable customers to enjoy faster transactions while benefiting from the security features associated with digital wallet technology.
The Google Pay integration complements FirstBank's existing digital banking platforms, including LIT App, FirstMobile, FirstOnline and FirstDirect.
With this development, FirstBank is positioning itself to meet the growing demand for cashless transactions while contributing to Nigeria's expanding digital economy.
