Barely one month after he assumed office as the new Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Fayoade Adegoke has shown the stuff he’s made of as a well prepared man for the job.

Following his emergence it’s been a new song among residents of Lagos. He has been able to bring calmness and adequate security into the state.

Fayoade was on Thursday, 18th January honoured with a Certificate of Commendation by highly reputed Celebrity Journal Publishers’ Association of Nigeria (CJPAN), the honour came as a result of his immense contribution to curb indiscipline and provision of adequate security during and after the yuletide.
Speaking during the presentation, President of CJPAN, Ola Mohammed commended the CP and urged him not to relent in his efforts in providing adequate security for the very populous Lagos State.

“I must be sincere, we’ve not had it so good in the history of Christmas and New Year celebration in Lagos, as a journalist and man about town that I am, I was at different events and what I saw really surprised me. Everywhere was peaceful, no violence as it used to be,. We must commend your efforts sir, in fact it is as if you’ve prepared for the job already, we pray that Almighty God should continue to guide you.”

In his response, Fayoade thanked CJPAN members for deeming it to honour him. He promised to work hand in hand with the association and other journalists in Lagos.

The CP also pledged to support journalists and keep them abreast of happenings in Lagos and appealed to them not to be bias in their reportage.

He urged them to desist from blackmail which is peculiar to some quacks in the noble profession. Alongside him at the presentation was the PPRO, Benjamin Hundeyin.
