VENO NEWS: MAYHEM, SHOOTINGS DISRUPTS AHMED TIJANI-LED OJOKORO LCDA FLAG OFF *SAHEED OSUPA BUNDLED OUT OF VENUE FOR SAFETY
Date: 21-05-21

As the countdown to June 24 LG/LCDA elections hots up in Lagos, the flag off declaration of Hamed Idowu Tijani led Ojokoro LCDA yesterday ended up in chaos and mayhem during which no less than three people were shot and wounded.
The event which has popular fuji star artiste, Saheed Osupa in attendance ended abruptly following gun shots by unknown persons who disrupted the flag off which was supposedly staged to showcase rivalry against other contestants in the community.
Sources told of how three supposed "power players" said to be pillars of the incumbent chairman, HID had made desperate moves to engage the service of Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, with a view to attracting spectators to attend the event.
After fruitless bid to commission Pasuma for the event, moves were made to engage Saheed Osupa who eventually came to entertain at the event. Soon after the flag off were declared open by their leaders, information reaching us had it that confrontations broke out between the spectators during which they shot sporadically.
Confusion set in as people scamper for safety in different directions. This was not until two people had been shot and wounded. It was not clear where they were eventually taken to for treatment.
Before the event came to n abrupt end, we gathered people got infuriated at the manner T shirts were distributed to some people, a situation we learnt did not go down well with some that complained bitterly and ended up confronting one another. The stampede was so overwhelming that many left the venue in annoyance as a result of what they term neglect and disdain.
The emerging mayhem apparently ended the ceremony as the fuji star, Saheed Osupa was bundled out of the stage and "packaged" out of the venue near the MFM church at Ajala, Ijaye Ojokoro, Lagos.
