FirstBank has reassured its customers and stakeholders that its FirstMobile application remains secure and fully operational, dismissing as false a recent voice message circulating on WhatsApp alleging that the mobile banking application has been compromised.
In a corporate statement, the Bank described the circulating claim as false and misleading, stressing that FirstMobile is protected by robust information-security infrastructure.
According to FirstBank, it continues to invest in world-class technology and cybersecurity protocols designed to maintain the highest standards of security, resilience and reliability across its digital banking channels.
The Bank assured customers that their funds remain safe and secure, adding that FirstMobile and its other digital channels continue to operate securely.
FirstBank therefore urged customers and members of the public to disregard the circulating voice message and avoid forwarding unverified information capable of creating unnecessary concern.
Customers were also advised to rely exclusively on FirstBank's verified and official communication channels for accurate information and updates.
