VENO tv: ENTERTAINMENT ADETSHINA MAINTAINS SHE WAS BORN IN SOUTH AFRICA AS LEGAL BATTLE CONTINUES
Date: 23-08-26

By Kayode Adoide

The controversy surrounding former Miss South Africa finalist and Miss Universe Nigeria Chidimma Adetshina remains unresolved, with the legal battle surrounding her citizenship and documentation continuing.

Adetshina has maintained that she was born in South Africa, a point that has featured prominently in discussions surrounding her nationality and eligibility.

The beauty queen attracted international attention in 2024 after controversy over her nationality intensified while she was competing in the Miss South Africa pageant.

She later withdrew from the competition and subsequently represented Nigeria, winning the Miss Universe Nigeria crown before going on to compete at Miss Universe.

However, questions surrounding her South African documentation developed into a legal matter, with various claims and counterclaims attracting widespread public attention.

The case has yet to reach a final conclusion, and proceedings are expected to continue into 2027.
It is important to distinguish Adetshina's stated place of birth from the separate legal questions surrounding citizenship and documentation. With the matter still before the authorities and courts, disputed allegations should not be treated as established facts until the legal process is concluded.

For now, Adetshina's remarkable journey from controversy in South Africa to representing Nigeria on the international stage continues to attract attention across Africa.

VENO tv will continue to follow developments in the case.
