Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, popularly known as the “Dancing Governor,” has never hidden his love for dancing, celebration and praise.
Beyond the entertainment attached to his dancing style, there is a deeper lesson to be drawn from the Bible: thanksgiving and praise are repeatedly associated with faith, courage and victory.

As Osun prepares for the August 15, 2026 governorship election, Adeleke is seeking another mandate from the people. His administration's performance, his popularity among supporters and his connection with the grassroots could become important factors when voters go to the polls.
The opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) is determined to wrest power from the incumbent administration, making the contest one to watch closely. Ultimately, however, the decision belongs to the people of Osun State through their votes.

WHEN PRAISE MEETS OPPOSITION

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has previously mocked Adeleke over his dancing. But political leaders should remember that what one person considers a weakness may sometimes become another person's strength.

The biblical account of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego offers an interesting illustration. King Nebuchadnezzar ordered the three Hebrew men thrown into the fiery furnace, but instead of their destruction, a fourth figure appeared with them. Their miraculous deliverance eventually caused the king to acknowledge the power of their God.

For Adeleke's supporters, the lesson is simple: opposition does not necessarily determine the final outcome.
Come August 15, the ballot box will provide the real test.
There are already political accusations and concerns surrounding possible vote-buying and electoral manipulation. Such claims must be treated as allegations unless supported by credible evidence. All political parties, electoral officials and security agencies have a responsibility to ensure that the election is peaceful, transparent and credible.

Victory should come through the freely expressed choice of Osun voters—not intimidation, manipulation or the purchasing of votes.

As the saying goes:
“Light and darkness cannot occupy the same room.”
Whatever happens on August 15, democracy will be best served when the people's genuine choice is allowed to prevail.
