The man at the centre of the alleged Presidential Council scandal, Mr. Adeniyi Adeyemi has declared that he is ready to face any charges brought against him, insisting that the courts will ultimately determine the truth surrounding the controversy.
Speaking during a telephone interview on a national television station on Thursday, Adeyemi dismissed allegations against him and maintained that he possesses a valid letter of appointment. He added that he is currently unwell and concentrating on his health while awaiting the judicial process.
According to Adeyemi, "The matter is already before the court, and I am ready to clear my name. I have a letter of appointment, and I believe the court will do justice."
Addressing questions about his alleged relationship with former Chief of Staff to the President, ****, Adeyemi claimed that Gbajabiamila was aware of his appointment and expressed confidence that the facts would emerge during the court proceedings.
"If I have committed any crime, the court will determine that," he said.
Adeyemi also questioned the allegation that the agency linked to him did not exist, arguing that he had interacted with several top public officials over an extended period.
"I want Nigerians to know that if the agency did not exist, would I have been meeting prominent personalities such as the Deputy Speaker, the EFCC Chairman, and others for almost two years? Nigeria is not a banana republic," he stated.
The Oyo State APC member further claimed that he actively participated in the political activities that led to the emergence of President Tinubu
On allegations that he paid money to secure the appointment, Adeyemi declined to give details, saying the issue is also before the court.
"Let the court do justice," he said.
The controversy surrounding the alleged Presidential Council appointment has continued to generate public interest, while legal proceedings are expected to determine the authenticity of the claims and any criminal liability.
