The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has announced a humanitarian intervention for Nigerians returning from South Africa, pledging free accommodation and transportation support for those arriving without a place to stay.
The cleric disclosed that the church has already set aside dedicated housing estates to accommodate returnees who are unable to settle immediately upon their arrival in Nigeria.
According to Apostle Chibuzor, the initiative is aimed at ensuring that no Nigerian returning from South Africa is left homeless or abandoned during the difficult transition back home.
In a statement shared on his Instagram page, he revealed that another batch of Nigerians had recently returned from South Africa and assured them that OPM would provide immediate shelter and other welfare support.
To further ease their movement, the church has also acquired a vehicle that will convey the returnees free of charge from their arrival point to the designated OPM housing estate.
The intervention comes amid the continued return of Nigerians from South Africa following renewed anti-immigration protests and growing concerns over the safety and welfare of foreign nationals.
Apostle Chibuzor, known for his humanitarian programmes, said the gesture reflects the church's commitment to restoring hope and dignity to Nigerians facing hardship.
The initiative has attracted commendation from many Nigerians, who described it as a practical demonstration of compassion and patriotism during a challenging period for many returning citizens.
