The atmosphere was filled with joy, praise, prayers, and excitement as children, parents, and church members gathered at Veno Prayer Centre, a.k.a. Mountain of Covenant, Ayede via Ifo, Ogun State, for the 3rd Children Harvest 2026 held on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
The year's harvest, themed "Raised For God's Purpose" with the anchor text taken from Proverbs 22:6, witnessed a colorful celebration dedicated to the spiritual growth and development of children.
Special prayers were offered for children across the nation, particularly those facing various challenges and those in captivity, with church leaders committing them into God's hands for protection, deliverance, and divine guidance.
The sermon was delivered by a promising young chorister, Okikiola Popoola, who ministered confidently and passionately, drawing admiration from the congregation as many described his delivery as resembling that of a seasoned preacher.
The event also featured inspiring presentations by other children, including praise worship sessions, recitations, and a drama presentation that captivated the audience and conveyed valuable Christian lessons.
A Bible competition was one of the major highlights of the celebration as winners received various gifts in recognition of their outstanding performances and knowledge of the Scriptures.
The Children Alaga group and other participants smiled home with school bags, umbrellas, writing materials, and other educational items donated to encourage academic excellence and spiritual growth.
Speaking during the event, Olayinka Oni, the Baba Ewe and Patron, charged the children to be more dedicated to their studies and remain steadfast in the Word of God, stressing that a bright future belongs to children who combine education with godly character.
Also speaking, Adebimpe Arowolo ensured that the children were adequately catered for throughout the programme and encouraged them to continue serving God wholeheartedly.
In his remarks, Bishop Dr. Sanya Ojo appreciated members of the Veno Committee, parents, teachers, and supporters for their contributions toward the success of the harvest. He charged everyone to remain committed to God's work and encouraged the children and congregation to "Get Up Quickly" and pursue God's purpose for their lives without delay.
The colourful harvest celebration ended with thanksgiving, presentations, and prayers for greater achievements in future editions.
