VENO tv: INSECURITY Nigeria Is Sick, President Tinubu Should Resign Now — Bishop Ojo
Date: 02-06-26

By Temitope Oni

The Spiritual Leader of Veno Prayer Centre, a.k.a. Mountain of Covenant, Bishop Dr. Sanya Ojo SOMH (Baba Confirmed), has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resign, citing the worsening state of insecurity and economic hardship across the country.
Bishop Ojo made the declaration on Tuesday while ministering on a message titled "Love Your Neighbour" (F??ràn ?m?nìkejì R?) at the church auditorium.
According to the cleric, Nigeria is presently facing enormous security challenges, rising poverty, and widespread hardship, which he said have contributed to an increase in kidnapping activities across the nation.
Referring to recent incidents of abduction in Oyo State, Bishop Ojo lamented the reported killing of a teacher, Mr. Oladokun, who allegedly lost his life while in the custody of kidnappers, while several other victims remain in captivity.
He noted that Nigerians have continued to cry out for the safe release of abducted citizens, especially school children and teachers, stressing that the government must intensify efforts to secure their freedom.
As a mark of solidarity with the affected families, the cleric announced the postponement of the 3rd Children Harvest Programme earlier scheduled to hold on June 7 at Veno Prayer Centre.
According to him, the decision was taken out of love and concern for the children and families currently affected by insecurity in Oyo State.
Speaking on the theme of his sermon, Bishop Ojo said the world today is filled with hatred, envy, selfishness, betrayal and wickedness.
He said many people profess love for God but fail to demonstrate love towards their fellow human beings.
Quoting Matthew 22:39, he stated:
"You shall love your neighbour as yourself."
He explained that loving one's neighbour is not optional for Christians but a divine commandment that requires believers to show kindness, compassion, forgiveness and genuine concern for others.
The cleric further argued that selfish interests among political leaders have contributed to the nation's present challenges, warning that leadership should be driven by service rather than personal ambition.
Bishop Ojo also urged political office holders, security personnel and lawmakers to seek God's guidance and protection amid growing security concerns.
He reiterated his popular message that:
"Success is good, but success is dangerous. Success without protection is dangerous."
According to him, if trained security officers and military personnel can become victims of attacks and abductions, ordinary citizens are even more vulnerable.
He therefore called on government at all levels to take urgent and decisive steps to address insecurity, restore public confidence and ensure the safety of all Nigerians.
"If military officers can be attacked or kidnapped, what then is the fate of ordinary civilians without weapons or security protection?" he asked.
The cleric concluded by calling for national repentance, fervent prayers and responsible leadership, saying Nigeria urgently needs healing, unity and a renewed commitment to the welfare of its citizens.
