An Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Ogba, Lagos, has discharged Ms. Comfort Emmanson, the passenger accused of unruly behaviour and assault aboard an Ibom Air flight.
Presiding Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami, on Wednesday, struck out the five-count charge against her after the police formally applied to withdraw the case.
Emmanson had faced allegations of disturbing the peace on board the flight, assaulting a crew member, and behaving in a manner capable of breaching public order. She had pleaded not guilty during her arraignment.
At Wednesday’s hearing, Police Prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan told the court that the complainant and the airline were no longer interested in pursuing the matter, following directives from police authorities.
Magistrate Salami granted the application and ordered Emmanson’s discharge.
